GOOGLE ALMIGHTY

Where can you find the answers to all your questions? There is no doubt that almighty Google can help you to cook soup, build a house, launch a spaceship and, of course, learn English. Moreover there are several ways to help Google to become even more intellligent (while learning English).

Google was officially introduced in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin as Google Search, and it has become the most used web-based search engine and still remains on the top.

The company launched Google News in 2002, Gmail in 2004, Google Maps in 2005, Google Chrome in 2008, and Google+ in 2011, and many other products.

Google AI (or Google.ai) is a specialized division of Google and it is dedicated solely to artificial intelligence.

One of Google AI projects is Quick, Draw!

This is a game built with machine learning. You read the word, quickly draw the image of it, and a neural network tries to guess what you’re drawing. Of course, it doesn’t always understand your creative talent. But the more you play with it, the more it will learn.

There’s a tutorial:

How can doodling help us to learn English? It enriches our vocabulary (and you have to think really quickly to win in the game)! You can try other languages as well.

One more projects of Google AI for more advanced learners in Semantris.

Semantris is a set of word association games powered by machine learning. It was trained on zillions of Internet conversations: the AI has learned how to predict words, phrases, or the whole sentences which might come next in a conversation. But the learning process is still in progress and you do contribute to its success while playing.

There’s a HowTo example:

Semantris is a great way to improve your English – you have to think in the language. There is no time to find equivalents in your native language.

Do you feel like learning English with Google AI?
